Hollywood boxer Rocky Balboa said it was not about how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

But British fighter Rockin’ Robin Deakin is feeling floored – after losing his 51st fight in a row.

The 27-year-old welterweight, believed to be Britain’s worst boxer, suffered his latest defeat at the hands of Poland’s Damian Lawniczak.

‘I have had my confidence knocked so much. Dunno what to do. Got the talent just can’t get out of this rut. #gutted,’ he tweeted afterwards.

‘Struggle has become my identity, I prepared for the fight. The occasion got to me. Thanks for all the loyalty. I will still fight. I won’t quit #boxing.’ He blamed nerves for Saturday’s defeat on points in London.

‘Loads going on in my head. Doing overtime. Need a great trainer work on conditioning and my mental condition. I suffer with nerves real bad,’ he added.

Manager Dave Murphy said: ‘Robin has been given the chance to prove his worth, and I think he shows that in everything he does.’

Deakin, from Essex, turned professional in 2006 after 40 amateur wins out of 75 bouts.

He fights under a permit from Malta after the British Boxing Board of Control suspended his licence over health concerns in 2012.
