AT JUST 24, she’s the world’s youngest billionaire with a $1.3 billion fortune.

But despite her extraordinary wealth, very little is known about Kei Perenna Hoi Ting, perhaps the world’s most mysterious billionaire.

Kei, also known as Ji Peili according to Forbes, made her money after being appointed non-executive director of Logan Property Holdings in 2010.

The company, which was founded by her father Ji Haipeng, has made a fortune from property development in China’s burgeoning market, selling homes to a growing number of first-time buyers and upgraders.

The news of her status comes after Forbes released its annual billionaire list.

While the usual suspects like Bill Gates, Carlos Slim and Warren Buffett were listed at the top, Kei Perenna Hoi Ting is one of just four who made billionaire status before their 30th birthday.

Meet the rest of the world’s youngest billionaires:

Anton Kathrein, Jr, 29, $1.35 billion

Mr Kathrein Jr is the third generation in a family dynasty that manufactures, develops and sells antenna systems and electrical parts, based in Rosenheim, Germany.

His grandfather started the company in 1919 and it now has a workforce of more than 6,800 people with an annual turnover in excess of $US1.86 billion.

Dustin Moskovitz, 29, $6.8 billion

Mr Moskovitz made his fortune as one of the initial investors in Facebook, along with Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, and was responsible for taking the site out of Harvard and into other colleges around the country.

He’s since left Facebook to start Asana, his own software company which aims to improve the way people collaborate on projects and is set to turn 30 this year.

Despite his billions, Mr Moskovitz keeps a low profile and married his long-time girlfriend Cari Tuna in the past year. He also tweets about everything from management to Mean Girls and reportedly rides a bike to work and flies economy.

Mark Zuckerberg, 29, $28.5 billion

In the last 10 years, Mark Zuckerberg has transformed from geeky college kid to internet mogul before our very eyes as his dorm-room social networking site became one of the world’s biggest and most talked-about companies.

His wealth has doubled from $14 billion to $28 billion in the last year as the company’s shares surged 130 per cent on strong mobile ad revenue, signalling an end to the trouble that surrounded its disastrous IPO.

While he may be phenomenally rich, it doesn’t seem Mr Zuckerberg has let it go to his head, still wearing his trademark jeans and grey top on stage, even as a keynote speaker. He recently spent $19 billion of company money buying messaging site WhatsApp and lives in a modest home with new wife, Priscilla Chan.

Figures are in US dollars and courtesy of Forbes.
