As he prepares to make his debut on Dancing With the Stars, Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec is doing a partnership shuffle of his own. Herjavec told TMZ that he's legally separated from his wife of 25 years, Diane Plese, and the two will divorce soon.
Herjavec, 51, was born in Yugoslavia (now Croatia) and made his fortune as one of the first people in the world to sell an internet firewall. He's most well known as one of the personalities on ABC's Shark Tank.
Herjavec met Plese when she was his optometrist. The couple has three children together, two daughters and a son. Fortunately, their divorce seems mostly amicable.
"Human relationships are so difficult," Herjavec told TMZ. "I wish nothing but love and peace for our family as we move forward from this."
Herjavec, who is worth a reported $125 million, will perhaps have some new skills to show off when he reenters the dating world. He's set to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars (which premieres March 16 on ABC) with Kym Johnson, 38, as his partner.
"I'm all in. I'm a little worried, because Kym's reaction, when she found out it was me, she was crying," Herjavec joked on Good Morning America when the cast was announced. "You have to compete against yourself, so we're not worried about the other people."
In addition to ballroom dancing and investing in strangers' business proposals on national television, other hobbies of Herjavec's include racecar driving and flying in a private plane. Daredevils wanted.
Also, you've got to be a fan of winter. Herjavec lives in Toronto, in a palatial 50,000-sqaure-foot home.
